Everything you need to know about Africa Capital Week

What is Africa Capital Week?
  • Africa Capital Week 2026 is a Pan African capital markets, private equity and global investment forum, and the first edition of what is designed to be a permanent, replicable platform for deepening Africa’s capital markets.
  • The 2026 theme, Deepening Capital Markets to Advance Africa’s Economic Sovereignty, sets the tone for a programme built around action. Every session is structured to move beyond dialogue towards firm advocacy commitments and accountability at both national and continental levels.
When and where will it take place?

Africa Capital Week 2026 runs from 7 to 11 September 2026 at the Argyle Grand Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

What does the programme look like?
  • 7 and 8 September (Forum Days):  Two days of high-level plenaries and interactive sessions that set the context for Africa’s capital markets, interrogate what is holding them back, and drive discussion towards concrete commitments.
  • 9 to 11 September (Market/Project Visit Days): A three-day open house of guided visits to investment ready Kenya Vision 2030 flagship projects and private sector investment sites across the country, giving delegates a first-hand view of the opportunities discussed in the forum room.
Who will attend?

Africa Capital Week 2026 will bring together 500 delegates drawn from more than 20 African countries. Attendees will include leaders of securities exchanges, industry captains, government policymakers, institutional investors, multilateral institutions, and voices from academia and research.

Who is organizing Africa Capital Week 2026?

The forum is convened by a coalition of organizing partners namely, The Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat (VDS), the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), The National Treasury, the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA), the National Black Chamber of Commerce (NBCC), and the Kenya Association of Stockbrokers and Investment Banks (KASIB) and others.

Why Africa Capital Week, and why now?
  • Africa does not lack capital, and it does not lack viable companies. What holds the continent back is a lack of integration and depth in its capital markets. Fragmented exchanges, inconsistent regulation, thin institutional investor bases and weak post investment accountability all restrict growth. Just as critically, the ecosystem has lacked a central, transactional platform that closes deals rather than simply making introductions.
  • Africa Capital Week exists to change that. It is built to challenge a global financial architecture that has long worked against Africa’s connective infrastructure and its competitiveness in raising capital, and to serve as the continental catalyst for deepening Africa’s capital markets.
What are the four pillars of Africa Capital Week?
  • Policy: Advancing the regulatory frameworks needed to connect and integrate markets across the continent.
  • Pipeline: Mobilising the strong, investment ready enterprises and projects that already exist in each country.
  • Capital: Aligning regional and international investors with specific market demands and opportunities.
  • Credibility: Embedding verified governance frameworks that reduce investment risk and build lasting institutional trust.
What are the objectives of the forum?
  • To convene thought leaders from more than 20 African countries and beyond, spanning the securities exchanges ecosystem, industry, government, academia and research, institutional investors and multilateral institutions.
  • To facilitate action-oriented discussions on continental policy harmonization, credibility and capital.
  • To showcase a pipeline of investor ready projects and listing ready enterprises from both the private and public sectors.

What outcomes should we expect?
  • The Nairobi Declaration 2026, a set of binding commitments presented to H.E. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, in his capacity as African Union Champion for Institutional Reforms.
  • The launch of Africa Capital Week as a long term, collaborative catalyst for deepening capital markets and advancing Africa’s economic sovereignty.
  • The Africa Capital Week 2026 Report, serving as the forum’s institutional memory and providing accountability, strategic direction and public transparency on the decisions taken, for this edition and those to come.
